Hi folks

I'm no stranger to regularly changing the strings on my guitars and other banjo, especially when performing regularly and recording.

How often do you guys change your cello banjo strings?

My CEB5 is my loungeroom banjo, with the occasional gig. When I bought it I purchased 2 spare sets of mediums but man were the expensive by the time they were shipped to Australia.

	tasrev says: 1/13/2014 1:42:11 PM I changed them in time for a festival I went to over the weekend. Certainly makes a difference in volume! I think they were the original strings from when the banjo was new, and I bought it used. They must have been at least a year and a half old.
	BlowingRockNC says: 1/13/2014 1:55:21 PM Gosh, I hope these estimates of a year or more work out for me, because these strings are very expensive. I've been playing my cello banjo for little over a week or so, and I can see some brightening of the silver wound around the strings near the frets, which is usually a sign of wear. Now, this won't amount to anything if simple brightening is all that happens. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed, because I can see already that I'll be playing this banjo more than I anticipated at the time I bought it. It truly is fun to play, plus I think it sounds really great. The folks I jam with regularly seem to like it as well. I went to 3 different jams last week, and it held its own, albeit a tad hard to hear in the larger jam group, what with all the sounds being hammered out by the other instruments.
