I've had my GT 5-string cello banjo for just a few weeks, and the 2nd string popped tonight when the banjo was just sitting on the stand. It broke right at the tuner where it was connected. it looks like the wound material frayed off, then the nylon popped. I use the Gold Tone Silver Wound, Medium Gauge Nylon. The size of the 2nd string is .034.... Anyway, my question is does anyone know where I can purchase single strings like this. These are so expensive, I would like to have a place where I can purchase singles. GT doesn't sell singles as far as I can see. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
