For all those using the book and thinking the double thumb/drop thumb tunes don't sound quite right. Remember, they are just really 'tuneful' exercises and Dan has had to arrange them to fit the specific double thumb and drop thumb criteria.

Keep at them, and it really drills in the bum-pa-di-tty and drop thumb basics, ready to push on to greater things further down the line with the 'kitchen sink' tunes.

If you've ignored the metronome page. Think again and get one.....

Andy got this group blogging idea going recently and it has turned into 2 groups: this one and another called The Practice Group for anyone working on banjo. As for the Clawhammer Banjo from Scratch, CBFS, we are learning a lot from and having fun. Andy has great practice goals and insights on Dan Levenson has agreed to join this group and give his comments here and there.
JackJ says: 11/12/2017 4:52:55 PM Just started clawhammer with this book so very happy to have some group support. I like that the practice drills are actual fiddle tunes, some of which I know from guitar flatpicking. I can manage the first set, but very sloppily. Now to work on cleaning it up.
