Hi everyone, I thought we'd get this group going. Sorry I haven't been around but I'm back at the banjo.

Feel free to post any issues you're having and since some of us are further along then others we can hopefully help each other out. Of course lots of help on main forum too.

I think a song of the month would be fun. I'll see if i can figure out how to make a poll and we could vote for a song to work on. You can always post a video whenever.

I'll throw something out there, see if anyone has something to chime in: Getting comfortable holding the banjo. I've only been playing about a month, and it still feels somewhat awkward. I don't know if it's because I'm still focusing so hard or what, but it still doesn't feel natural to hold. Does anyone else have this issue? I kinda think it'll just sort of go away on its own, but...well, how would I know?
	Kristopher says: 12/14/2014 4:25:07 PM I think you'll find a happy spot for your banjo. I had a resonator banjo so when I sat it would sit between my legs quite nicely. After a couple months I took the resonator off and tried it on my knee but that puts my picking hand over the end of the fret board where if my fret board was scooped I would be happy to play there but since it's not I like to play over the head right behind the fret board. Anyway, I think it will work out. I was coming off mandolin when I got going my issue was "Wow this fret board is long!" Took some time for sure.
