I bought a used Jens Kruger and I'm curious about the factory set up as I'm unsure whether my current set up is the factory one. Head is at F# and the tail piece is low, a slight negative/downward slant to it. Great sustain but there is some "tubbiness" to the sound.
Secondly, although the strings are centered on the neck, there is a tendency for the first string to slide off the neck. The angles at the end of the frets (where they have been cut) seem to take up more a larger piece of the fret than I've experienced on other banjos. I'm working on accuracy with my finger placement and direction of force, but am considering offsetting the bridge more towards the 5th string to create a bit more space.
