I've had a couple of very knowledgeable people tell me to beware of Doc's banjos as they don't have a truss rod. I've read his web site concerning this, but am up in the air about buyking one. I'm already dealing with someone who has one for sale.

Appreciate any comments about this.

He builds without a truss rod intentionally, and he would tell you that because of the way he builds them, his neck is stronger than a neck with a truss rod and will last for generations. I would highly suggest that you give him a call and just share your concerns. He's a great guy and will happily answer any questions you have. He's currently at the Centralia Campout, but he'll be back August 20th. He may be able to call you from up there if you call his number and leave a message, but I'm not sure. Just use the phone number on his website. I have two of his banjos and I would highly recommend them.

There is one for sale that a sister to 150 that I'm dickering about. "While I Have Being" is a great album. Wish I could find the tab to Stand Upon (hint, hint). I'm not sure if Doc's guarantees his banjos that are with a 2nd owner. I assume you haven't had any truss problems, but your banjos are fairly young. Thanks again. Fred
