Hi all.

I'm waiting excitedly to receive my Drop Thumb cd and book from Elderly. Despite our Global New World Society, things still take time when they're being sent from one continent to another via the postal service :-) I was so happy when I saw that this group existed that I just had to join, even though I haven't the cd or book in my possession and as yet do not know if my newbie abilities are able to learn any of the tunes. Anyway, I'm really happy to be a part of the group and have already been greatly encouraged by R.D.'s helpful advice. I'm looking forward to swapping notes with you all. Happy picking guys - Steve

At last, R.D.'s cd & booklet have arrived! The downside was having to pay almost the price of the two items again in import duty. Sucks! The positive side - it was darn worth it! What a rocking cd you've produced R.D. I love all types of Banjo music & especially all types of Clawhammer/Old Time, but yours just rocks. What truly great syncopation. It's the kind of style I aspire to emulate playing on my own. I love the sound of the Banjo in different tunings & equally get a kick out of playing in different tunings. As a newbie though, the tunings are G / A, / double C & D. Can't wait to explore R.D.'s other tunings, but to start with I'll try June Apple in A. It's a tune I've wanted to learn for some time in a tuning I know. THANKS Ron. Steve (dan-ban)

Thank you so much, RD. Your more than welcome for my kind words. They're truly deserved. I feel your connection to my Banjo journey. You're generous in your reccomendation to newbies of Old Woodchuck & Dan Levenson. These two wonderful teachers & players have helped me in my first year of learning the Banjo. Along with them I feel you're the next step up for me RD. Looking forward to learning your tunes & tunings. Kindest regards - Steve
