Gibson 19 hole Flathead Bowtie Owners

This is for owners of the Gibson RB-250 of the early 60's that came from the factory with a 19 hole Tone ring and 5/8th Rim.

I have just purchased what I believe to be a 1963 bowtie with a 19 hole tonering. That is according to the serial number. The thing I questioned was no Gibson sticker in the rim. Is that common? It has two Keith tuners in place of the G & B string Klusons. Other than that, it is all original.

The thing really cranks. I set it up with a Snuffy Smith bridge, tightened the head just a little and it won't stop!!!

momo says: 11/22/2013 2:06:32 PM These Banjos did not have a label in the Rim. Please tell us your serial number, it should be stamped on the back of the peghead.
