Has anyone put a conversion ring on? If so which one did you use, and what was the result.

Thinking hard on a conversion ring in an attempt to get that flat top sound.

	Bob Murphy says: 8/12/2014 9:05:29 AM I put a Mitch's Tone Ring Mate on a 1927 TB3 with a no hole tone ring. It changed the tone, but I'm not convinced it sounds like a pre-war flat head. I'm thinking that the extra mass of wood and tube and plate flange is a factor as well. The tone ring mate was less expensive than a conversion ring. I'm interested to hear others experiences as well.
	impickin5 says: 8/12/2014 2:44:59 PM I've tried quite a few conversion rings on my 1928 TB3 conversion to 5 string and the best by far was a Cathey conversion ring. There is one for sale here on the HO classifieds in the Banjo Parts section.
