I have been looking for a while now for a Mastertone and found a nice one! 2004 Earl Scruggs that is a closet queen...still had original strings on it...mint condition and never played. I will get Richie Dotson to do a setup on her...add some spikes...and let her sing...I am excited!

	CliffK says: 4/28/2014 11:53:53 AM Sweet! Congrats. My banjo is a '94 Earl Scruggs and I love it. The more I play it the better it sounds. I have read where people think they sound harsh, but mine resondes very well to changes in head tension, tailpiece height and different bridges, easy to get a warm full tone and good crack and pop, respondes very nicely to picking dynamics. I think you will be very pleased!
	fish carver says: 5/11/2014 4:24:06 AM Ritchie did the setup on her...WOW...serial number is 4611...and she sounds awesome now. Tone ring (mystery tone ring/no info on it which is common for that era with Gibson) was a little too tight...turned on the rim shaving the maple for the perfect fit...connectors were neutral...it had never had a setup done in it...he called her a ten year time capsule...he worked on it...played it...worked on it...played it...also put a huber bridge on it...did I mention he can play the living fire out if a Banjo? He is the man...and I love my Earl!
