No, seriously:

It's taken from the Devil Makes Three song of the same title. Here's the chorus: Well I've been having a hard time, Walking a straight line, Seeing two of every single neon sign, Well now you'll find me downtown, Gracefully face down, Just wishing I could feel alright. It seemed like a good title for a group for banjo pickers who are into this kind of music. What kind of music? "Call it bluegrass thrash if you like, a rip-snortin’, fire-breathin’ kind of post-punk folk music that mashes up traditional country picking with a decidedly rock & roll approach." (Don't let that word "folk" in that quote I stole scare you.) Specifically, I have in mind bands with a similar aesthetic to Devil Makes Three, Trampled By Turtles, .357 String Band, Old Crow Medicine Show, Split Lip Rayfield.

I thought this would be a good place for some of us to share music (mp3s, dropbox files, video links, etc.), talk about bands, share tabs, discover new groups and maybe, if a few of us get lucky, form some groups of our own to play this kind of music.

So, if you find yourself occasionally (or often) gracefully facedown (or just like to sing about it), have a penchant for good songs about bad behavior, enjoy old-time music with a punk rock attitude, or generally like to combine the banjo with raucous behavior, this is the place for you.

I'm adding some more video links below for anyone who is curious, or, for those of us who already love it, to get ya in the mood.
