Skin head durability for clawhammer?

I have a new Carver minstrel banjo, tack head (non-adjustable) with goat skin. I like it so much that I am going to buy a 'spare', but not sure whether to get another skin head or the option of a Remo fiberskyn head for long term durability. I play clawhammer. Would a Remo head be significantly more durable over time than the goat skin for that style of play, or does it not make any practical difference?

Also, I would like to add that the reason for my doubt on Fyberskin is that in the long run the fyber coating can wear off, with other Remo types I never had any difficulty.
