Trying to install my new premounted vellum head from Miller's. I have an early 20s FBanks/Vega, and ordered the 10 15/16 head, which the receipt says I got. My problem is that, in order to get the hooks on, the flesh hoop has to be virtually flush with the tension band. The flesh hoop I got is larger than my tension band, so I can get a few hooks on, but then no shot on the other side or as I move around the head (tried both ways). The crown seems to be right, but the flesh hoop is the problem. Did they just mount with the wrong size hoop or is there some trick for making this work? Compared to the renaissance head I was replacing, same crown, hoop is about 1/8" larger on the hide. I posted in the building/set up forum and am re-posting here bc I can't figure out how to link8 Comments | |
