I bought an 11" special rim and hardware from Bart Reiter to pre-mount hide heads for sale.
These will be sturdy, un-bleached (natural), goat skins - medium thickess. I install them on new flesh hoops made of 1/8" square brass stock. They will be treated with waterproof spray before shipping. The Reiter hardware makes a great platform to mount skins for use on just about any standard 11" rim banjo. I placed an ad in the classifieds and quickly depleted my initial supply of hides. But more are coming and will be available very soon. (FYI: a donation to the BHO is made for each head sold in the clasifieds)
I also plan to set up for 12" pre-mounts and am experimenting with stains of various types .... so please stay-tuned.
