I'm reinstalling a head I took off a couple years ago and I can't remember do I need to wet it to pull it down? Right now I've got it snug with 8 hooks but I have about a 1/2 inch to go. Larry

	jmoathout says: 8/7/2014 6:53:23 PM Typically, no, you don't want to or need to wet it. IF the crown needs to be re-set, it might need to be lightly dampened with a moist towel. Generally, you need to tighten the hooks a little at a time, keeping it level versus the tension hoop. Check the tone as you go with the tightening until it opens up /increases in volume. Search BHO for comments by John Balch and Rudy. Personally, I like to also use a gauge made for me by Steve Davis for my hide heads. I posted on this 15 days ago. If you wet it, you might allow it to slip off the flesh hoop.
