I am increasingly drawn to the ukulele. I have owned and played banjo ukes in the Formby style: chord based and heavily syncopated for many years.
Recently I have bought a few ukes, concert and tenor and have been playing these more and more.

Not only are they "user friendly" ,do not require constant attention; they make me smile.

Age brings aches pains and decreasing finger mobility.
The perfect antidote seems to be, 4 nylon strings tuned GCEA
(other tunings are available)

I play strum, fingerstyle and clawhammer and now I'm working on a melodic style.
Within a few minutes I can pick up and play, Beatles Bach Leonard Cohen, Tom Paxton.... It is another branch of music, a new learning experience and more or less, instant fun. And to be fair, I have never been any more than an average 5 string picker.
I fear I have been seduced by the little jumping flea.

Alas what will be come of me.

	Mercymando says: 3/5/2015 11:09:07 AM My friends that I play music with on a regular basis say I'm "Uke Crazy!," When asked how many I own, I tell them 3 Banjoleles (Baritone, Concert, Soprano), 1 regular Concert and 1 Wood Body reso/Concert. I've given at least that many away to do my part in "Spreading The Uke Way To Joy!"
