Hi I recently purchased a home and found what looks like a JH Buckbee vintage banjo. I was hoping to share the images here to see if anyone would be able to help me verify the banjo and the worth of it. Unsure how to upload photos to this post currently but I added them to my profile media tab. Thanks!

	TriMD180 says: 11/23/2022 9:43:14 AM Yes indeed, it looks like a Buckbee maybe from the mid 1880’s they go on eBay any where from $250-$600 depending on the crowd and demand. Some times you see them listed for a lot more, but they sit there for a long time until they drop the price to a reasonable range. You should get rid of those steel strings immediately as the tuning pegs tailpiece and the banjo itself was not designed to withstand the strain of steel strings and will eventually be damaged by them. LaBella 17’s are the strings to go with! it looks like it maybe in really good condition but it’s hard to tell with out good pictures. The banjo should NOT be in the case and there should be good lighting (outside in the sun) and from all angles. It looks like it would be a pretty good player! Have fun with it!
