Having been trying learning the Banjo for almost three years and to be honest still finding progress slow ( admitedeley this year I have not done much due to injury and personal issues). My good freind Joemac suggested that as I like Irish and English Folk music to try this area of Banjo. With this in mind I sent for a DVD and book 5-String 'G' Banjo, Irish and British Folksongs by Sully from Halshaw Music. It arrived a couple of days ago and I have started to work through the exercises.

For the last couple of years I have had to keep two fingers planted on the head now I am having to take them off...very confusing but I am enjoying it.

If anyone can offer advice it will be most welcome.

I shall also keep trying to improve on the tune I can already play even if it is only one or two.

keysoftune says: 12/9/2011 4:25:17 PM ive learned that even tho i get discouraged , not to quit or give up i know how confusing it can be im learning bluegrass and want to play celtic tunes.. i got a lot to learn . but i remember why im doing it.. i love to play music and what is more satisfying that to play what you love
