Well, I also have struggles with the banjo. I have a good start on my picking patterns but I find it is very difficult to change chords while concentrating on my picking. I'm trying to nail my own style, So I'll just keep on keepin on.

I feel i've got a good picking base but every time I need to change chords, or contort my hand to reach F, i get stalled. I'ld be interested to hear how others are working on getting chord changes smoother. sometimes, I'll just sit there watching tv and do left hand work. it's quiet and I feel i'm training my hand to learn where to go. it's coming slowly along, but I think i'm noticing some improvement.

I will try what your doing to train my hand, when I'm just sitting. good advice. Sometimes I just start with open g and go from one chord to another only strummin once through each one to try and get faster.
keysoftune says: 12/22/2011 4:14:16 AM i also have trouble with chord changes.. my instructor has me make the chord strum a beat then take my hand away from the neck then put the fingers back on in the cjhord postion .. he tells me to do it about 20 times or till it feels right.. im doing it but still slow with changes
	somethingaboutgrace says: 1/9/2012 9:29:22 AM I'm doing the same thing to practice....taking my hand completely off and putting it back on the right chord. It is slow...but I'm seeing improvement. Don't give up!:)
