I am a newbie and everyone I have run into is a right hand player. While I write with my right hand, I play golf left handed. And, I find the banjo feels better left handed than right. Would appreciate any advise you all have or things I need to be aware of as I travel this journey. Happy New Year!

	banjass says: 1/7/2012 10:48:52 AM I too am on the early learning curve, been at it just over a year. My best advice is buy one or both of the Left hand Chord charts that are out there, it will save you some time. Otherwise, lots of practice and lessons if you can get em just like those Righty's. 	slthames says: 1/8/2012 12:36:06 PM Welcome to the group banjogal.Gool luck on the banjo journey.When I first started I found lessons locally but he was right handed.We became good friends as well as teacher/student.I had to overcome the differences in hand directions for the lessons.It finally clicked in my head and I went from there.Good luck.

sun136 says: 6/21/2012 4:16:02 AM I am ambidextrous and played right handed for many years. I eventually stopped playing after being very frustrated that I could not master the techniques. I tried playing left handed, and things "clicked". I am so excited to be picking again, and I can finally pick what I hear cleanly.
