Hi Everyone,

I am new to the group and forum so I thought I'd introduce myself and ask if this group is still active?

My name is Rebecca, I am a bi trans woman from the UK in my mid 20s. I have recently gotten back into playing the banjo, having not touched it for almost a decade, and have been practicing every day for the last 3 months, loving it every step.

I'm mostly just following Pete Seeger's How to Play the 5-String Banjo and watching clips on YouTube but once i save up a bit of cash i might look into some lessons with a tutor.

My current Banjo is a Harley Benton HBJ-25LH I bought cheap off EBay and took the resonator off of. I've set myself a personal goal that if i practice every day for a year (or find something at a absolute bargain) I am allowed to buy something a bit more up market. I'd love a long neck but they're very expensive to begin with and there is the added hurdles of being left handed and in the UK so i might be looking for a while haha.

I hope this group is still active? or at least its members are still about :) I'd really appreciate some recommendations for queer banjo plays to enjoy listening to or just some people to chat with occasionally.
