Howdy folks,

I am a native Texan living in Virginia but my family still lives in the Lower Rio Grande Valley. Been picking for about a year now and I am having a wonderful time learning. I do have a question for fellow Texans; are there any places to jam at in the RGV or in the nearby area? Reason I ask is I usually visit home for a couple weeks during the summer and would like to bring by banjo down so I can keep my hard won skill up.

	Common Tater says: 2/7/2013 3:42:11 PM I know of nothing in the RGV (but that doesn't mean there isn't anything there). There's a Bluegrass jam going on in Houston (look for Bay Area Bluegrass Assn.) a Bluegrass jam in Fayetteville (look for Texas Pickin' Park) and a, sort-of, Old Time jam in Montgomery. None of these is anywhere near your home place.

	roady24 says: 3/15/2013 6:46:39 PM There are two rv parks on Benson Palms Dr. in mission tha have BG jams on Tuas and Thursday but I don't the names of the parks but all the jams are listed in the Winter Texan times.
