	wesrichards says: 7/2/2013 8:17:25 AM John, you don't see these in this condition every day and not at this price. But there are drawbacks to this model if you're a Vega "purist." Headstock shape. And those dog-bone holes in the tubaphone ring change the sound. But on the upside, Martin put them together better than Vega did in its last days. As for made of money... careful what you wish for. You'd be having to chase the women away and that would take so much time and effort, you'd have no time for banjos. Of course, this is only what I hear. I have no personal experience. <:-)

As to whether or not it's worth what tis being ask -- can't rightly say. I've been lead to believe that Martin made 101 PS longnecks, so it might be a collector items. Chris

I have no idea what the models where, ss or ps. I've just spent some time snooping around here and on the web and I still do not understand the difference between those two models as far as sound and playing. And to add another facit, the articles I've read about the Martin Vega say that they were better constructed but did not sound as good as the earlier models. Has anyone have some opinions they'd care to share? And, fwiw, I would think that the Martin Vega is a bit overpriced. Kim

Yes, the Martins were built better. They sounded different, but only you can determine whether the older ones sounded better. The Vega Vegas sound like Pete Seeger. The Martin Vegas don't.
