Looking for open jams in the Maryland DC area

From Cryo on 5/11/2011 7:54:42 PM

Are there any pick up jam sessions in the Maryland DC area?

Thanks. Locations are not close to DC on this site. Maybe better to look at northern VA?

I looked on WAMU's website but didn't find anything. You might try contacting them - they're in DC and might have info on jams: bluegrasscountry.org/ Also there is a DC Bluegrass Union: dcbu.org/ They should know if there are any jams in DC. They have a long list of jams here: dcbu.org/jams.htm

Hope this helps.

Thanks. Perfect. Great help. Now to find some time to get to one of these!

Its good to see some chatter in the group. Looks like we're gonna have to drag the rest of the crew out kickin' and fussin.'

I suspect that there is a lot more Bluegrass activity down here in southern Maryland - but I'm not finding it either. There's a Friday night jam in Prince Frederick that I've been to, and one over in Huhgesville (about an hours drive).

I'm still looking.

Late reply, but if the OP is still looking for jams in Maryland close to DC, you should know there's one in Takoma Park at the VFW hall 1st and 3rd Mondays every month. Listed at DCBU.org
