If you live in and around Montgomery County, come on out Saturday night, Dec 10, to hear my Celtic-oriented band Paddy Goes West in our holiday show at The Royal Mile Pub in Wheaton. 8 pm to as far past 11 as people will stay.
About 1/3 of our songs and tunes will be seasonal selections, from traditional to rock, Celtic to Yiddish, instrumentals to sing-alongs.
No cover or minimum. Great, moderately priced food. Interesting beers on tap. And one of the area's largest selections of single malt Scotch.
I play both banjo and electric bass; these days more banjo than bass, I think. Line-up also incudes acoustic and electric guitars, fiddle, hammered dulcimer, tin whistle, harmonica, mandolin, bodhran. We're a quartet, so lots of switching goes on.
Royal Mile is at 2407 Price Avenue, Wheaton, Maryland. Plenty of free street and garage parking within 2-3 blocks. A short walk from Wheaton Metro on the Red Line.
