Just found out about this one.
The last Monday of every month there is a beginner / intermediate jam at the Comstock Park Library, from 5pm - 8pm. Here is part of the email I received from the organizer:
We are a group of bluegrass musicians of various levels of expertise with the purpose of helping folks learn the ins and outs of playing in a bluegrass jam. We meet always on the last Monday of every month in the community room of the library from 5-8 PM. You are welcome to arrive at whatever time is best for you. We try to focus on bluegrass music but a first timer can play any song they would like. This is a circle jam but no one has to take a turn unless they want to. We usually have between 10 to 15 folks there but you never know. We are there to improve our musical abilities but also we always have a really good time and try to make everyone welcome and comfortable joining us. Hope to see you sometime.
If interested, let me know and I will pass her email address to you via PM.
Don
