I realized I never introduced myself here, so here it goes.

My name's Ryan. I joined the Coast Guard in 2002, did a little time on a Coast Guard cutter (ship), and finished my time off as a public affairs officer at Coast Guard HQ.

I separated in 2011, and I started picking the five-string February 2014.

I think it would have been popular with the crew (and I DID have the space in my stateroom).... but I'm guessing the MPA or EO on my ship would have had something to say about late night picking when they were try to get a little shut eye (lower-O on a 210' cutter was watertight.... but not sound proof!)
