I Have to say that murphys dvds are a real life saver. im from all the way over the pond in the UK and you can probably guess that hardly any music shops have any banjo material at all, nobody around my area teaches the banjo and theres not really any major lessons online unless you start paying for them per lesson!. I accidentally stumbled across Murphy's website and have never looked back. i got myself the beginning banjo dvds and the banjo for misfits dvd. and am slowly working my way through them, i can now play about 7 songs all the way through. So thanks Murphy Method!

	tkocason says: 8/23/2011 8:15:19 AM I couldn't agree more. I played banjo for a year when I was 18 years old. All I did was from a mel bay or Earl Scruggs book. In a year I think I finally got Cripple Creek and Nine Pound hammer to sound almost like a banjo. 32 years later i get another banjo, found the Murphy Method on ebay (started with the Advanced Earl DVD, but that's a whole other story) and now I haven't even been playing a year (October I think) and I'm playing about 30 tunes and now some fancy back-up (and some without too many mistakes). So it's the only way, other than living next door to an instructor, to get going in a hurry! Keith.
