This past weekend I met with Murphy for three personal lessons and it was awesome. My wife and I drove down from New Jersey. First off, Murphy just makes you feel very relaxed and I am a person that gets very nervous. Each session she played guitar while I played banjo and when we were done she would critique me and give me pointers. We also worked on vamping and the other hundred things that I do incorrectly. The DVDs are great but sitting across from her face to face and playing is something that everyone that uses the DVDs should try to do. She really is an amazing person. We plan on going back in December.

	Sally Goodin says: 10/26/2011 1:46:56 AM Both my husband and I are blessed to live near her and have her for our teacher. My husband takes Upright Bass, and I take Banjo. She is an awesome instructor of both instruments, but her greatest attributes (in my opinion) is that she is fun to be with, humourous, warm, and encouraging - everything a struggling, incompetent student needs in order to continue to persue difficult instruments which play at lightning speeds in this genre.
