Someone asked Murphy, via the Murphy Method Forum, about which tuners in the peg head are to be replaced with D tuners while learning to play Reuben. I'm sure that all this student needs and wants to know is explained right there in that DVD. This is good info for all TMM students to know of in advance, whether or not they plan on purchsing the those expensive Keith, or similar, tuners. Also, Murphy's lessons, in the DVD, on fake tunners is good information to know about as an option. You've got to check it out. I don't ever recall Murphy answering anybody via the Forum, though, Red has done so. Good luck and happy pickin' to all.

I was in the process of learning Reuben and I was giving Murphy and Casey a little feedback of my progress which as a remote student I believe helps them understand that the information they put into these lessons does help students become successful banjo players. It also inspires them to put together new lessons which in the long term benefits all . Suggest you go back and READ my post.. You will see Casey's reply and my reason for posting the query... As for Murphy making a personal reply through the Murphy Forum I don't recall her doing so. I think that's Casey's area of responsibility and I am comfortable with that, but Murphy does read and occasionally responds to the comments posted on the Murphy Blog. She has replied to many of my emails over the past four years I have been a Murphy student. She will often discuss a topic with Casey and Casey will make the reply. Sometines they both reply.. I know Murphy has been hard at work writing a book which I believe is near to completion. So I guess lot's of queries might be an un-welcome distraction at this time.. I respect that... Murphy also became a doting Grandma a year or so ago and that will take precedence over everything I'll bet.... Hope this goes some way to clarify things. Happly Pickin

Anyway, Murphy explains all you need to know about the D tuners in her DVD. All you have to do, with a sharp ear, is listen.
