I couldn't help myself...I bought eight titles! Really enjoying looking at them all and have started in earnest on Ned's "Start with the melody". Alas, I am having quite a lot of troubles with the downloads though. On my MacBook Pro they are 'jittery' with a lot of visual 'artefacts' which render the viewing nigh on impossible. In places the lessons lose color, and almost have a photographic negative appearance. Sometimes the lessons start over for no apparent reason. I'm wishing now that I had purchased the DVD's instead. I have used a lot of my monthly Internet data bandwidth downloading them to my hard drive so they don't have to be streamed. I have 8Gb RAM, a video card (not just on board VGA), an SSD with my OS (Mavericks), so I don't think its hardware related.
However, from what I have been able to see...I am a firm believer in the content, even if the media isn't quite working for me. I was won over by the need not to pay shipping, and the player is great, when it displays properly. Ned's approach for beginners is fantastic, and I have selected other titles to work on as I advance.

I'm sorry you're having trouble with the downloads. If your troubles don't resolve (a note to the Platform Purple customer service department might help. They're really on the ball...) we will be glad to send you the DVDs.

I am overwhelmed! Thank you. I will contact Platform Purple and see if they can help with the download side of things, and then let you know. Like I mentioned, the player is great when it works. It's really convenient for me as a beginner to loop a section I want to work on by pressing "I" for the in...."O" for the out, and "L" to set it in a loop - highly recommend this to other beginners!

Red, Casey,
I have contacted the Platform Purple help desk. They were very friendly and prompt. At this stage they suggested I use the internet streaming player (as it did not give me the visual errors), and while it plays without the visual artefacts, it isn't a long term solution. We don't have particularly high speed internet and it is data capped. Hence, it took a good while to load sufficient video for playback, and then paused to buffer whilst part way through. Sorry to be a nuisance with this. The material...fantastic! I am certainly a convert to the Murphy Method....in fact, I have friends who are ordering the mandolin and fiddle content since taking a look at what I purchased.

Just email us the titles you purchased and we'll get you the DVDs. Buffering is annoying. casey@murphymethod.com

Thank you Casey. I have emailed you, and yes...buffering is a drag.

Platform Purple today suggested I uninstall all the files and re-download them. I wrote them with a few other playback errors and let them know I can't do that (this month) as I haven't the data to re-download them, so I'd be without my training, period. You and Ned have me about sorted with Yankee...so I am keen to move right along to Red River! Have a great day.

Casey and Red,
I have been working out of town and on my return discovered the delivery of the DVD's. I cannot thank you, nor praise you enough for exceptional customer service. This is what they used t say in the "good ol' days" - Customer Satisfaction Guaranteed! I have very much connected with the Murphy Method, and while it may take me a good while to get through all I purchased, I will certainly highly recommend you to others. Thanks so much.
