Help with decision would be appreciated

From The Glasgow Banjo Cat on 12/2/2014 6:48:40 AM

Hi folks. I started working with the first beginning DVD two days ago and am leaping about with excitement because I've already learned BITH and Cripple Creek. I'm delighted because I only took up the banjo very recently. (I'm also doing Josh Turknett's Brainjo Clawhammer course).

What I would appreciate advice from some of  you more experienced Murphs would be what two DVD's to get with this weeks special "two for the price of one" offer. One of them will obviously be Beginning number two but what should the other be?

My goal is to play with other musicians eventually so what would be best to get as my other choice? More songs with "Misfits" or Kickstart, Slow Jam or Vamping?

I'm spoilt for choice and really would like some help. Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.

The second DVD should be Banjo for Misfits, actually. Not Volume 2. Then you could go with Slow Jam (to have something to practice along with) or Kickstart.

Wow, Casey. That was a VERY quick response and thanks very much. I'm going to take your advice and buy Misfits and SlowJam.

But, eventually and quite soon, I'm going to get them all.

You already heard from the authority on the subject but between her suggestions of "Slow Jam" or "Kickstart Your Jamming" I would recommend "Kickstart" because there is a ton of play along examples as well as very solid instruction. "Banjo for Misfits" is undoubtedly the best thing to follow BB1.

Thanks, five-string fever. I've now bought Slow Jam and Misfits but will follow with Kickstart shortly.

I'm very grateful for your suggestion and help.
