I bought one of the "Mike's Banjo Mute"s off the Internet and it has helped a lot. Amazing how one little clamp on the bridge can quiet the entire instrument. I still can't play through quiet TV stuff, but it allows me to be practicing in the same room with her fairly often. Never could do that before....She still doesn't understand why I could possibly need more than one of those horrible banjos, though.
