I have logged into the last 3 ken Perlman banjo lessons on the hangout chattoom and as I'm in the uk, with the time difference, this means they take place at 11 pm uk time and finish at 1 am. In an attempt to appease the wife, I stuffed copious amounts of rags into the pot of my banjo to deaden the sound but failed as the wife was constantly banging on the bedroom ceiling. She said I should tell mr Perlman to hold the lessons at a more sensible time as 'some of us have work on a Monday morning'

	loukiii says: 8/2/2011 6:22:29 PM Instead of putting the cushion in the back of your banjo, try tearing it in half and stuffing them in your wife's ears. Seriously, I gave my wife a pair of ear plugs to wear while I practice.
	saltcityscott says: 11/6/2011 1:07:53 PM It isn't quite the same but I've found a "Silent" banjo that looks a lot like a travel type electric guitar. I bought it on e-bay last week. My hope is that when I get home from work about 2:00am I'll be able to unwind with some head phone picking before bed without being abused by my wife for damaging her night's sleep. It should be here the first of the week. I'll let you know how it goes. The e-bay vendor's name is violinking.
