Someone recently commented about Nechvilles having weird overtones. I have never read about this before nor have I heard them myself. Can anyone enlighten me?

	nechville says: 1/19/2025 8:30:55 PM A properly set up banjo will not have weird overtones. Any such thing occuring in any banjo would necessitate attention from the owner or a luthier. One of the many beauties of Nechville is the ease with which you can raise action or change head tension almost instantly, making your Nechville far less prone to the problem of weird overtones .
	HighLonesomeF5 says: 1/20/2025 3:24:05 AM Tom, thanks for the reply. Someone posted a question on how to keep bracket nuts from loosening. I suggested a Nechville, "no brackets at all" to paraphrase Steely Dan. That's when someone mentioned that Nechville's have weird overtones. Since Nechville's have a better mechanical design they have less parts then can loosen and vibrate so should have fewer overtones.

Started sounding dull again ( had this issue before, Tom did a video on it), It might have been all the climate changes, going from high dry SoCal Desert back to PNW Oregon. Finally had to work on getting the setup dialed. Nechville's are easier to work on for sure, and once you get them setup the way you want, you can really work on defining your modern bluegrass Banjo sound.
