Ok - I'll answer that :)
I'm kind of working on nearly everything, including saving for decent banjo. I've sort of 're-started' my learning. I am practising rolls, chord changes, that kind of thing. But one discovery I made lately is partial chords! This has REALLY opened up stuff for me for, mostly for trying to do some up-the-neck breaks. When I saw it (from one of the many great learning videos posted by a BHO member), the lights really went on for me. I actually wonder how I missed this all along - but I guess that's one of the pitfalls of trying to teach yourself banjo.
I'm also trying to properly learn complete, if simple, versions of songs I've partially learned over the years: Cripple Creek, Will The Circle, FMB ..

Hey all,
I've been working on Home Sweet Home in D using the D tuners + up the neck. Every song is a new adventure for sure. That in addition to deciding on the best finger picks to suit my style and instrument and concentrating on tone over all is the big thing for me right now.

Hi Leeland, Being a musician you probably are learning it by ear? I don't have tuners, but I have worked on Home Sweet Home a bit. I used a tab from Eddie Collins, for a while, and Also I have Murphy Henry video of that one too. Each one is a little different. Lately I've been trying to work it out by ear. Hope you can post a sound clip.

Nice tune. I've fooled around with Bending the Strings, which uses tuners - but I fake the tuners with appropriate slides.

I don't know if anyone has tried Streets of London. It's a good one to get some practice up the neck and get used to finding the minor chords up the neck too. I usually do it in 'F' shape C at the 8 - 10 th frets, and if you do it in the same key in the 'D' shape at 12 - 14 the minors change shape too. helps remember the relevant minors in other areas of the neck. I've only recently been trying to use the minors, as a lot of the tunes I've been trying don't include minors...except the e minor at 8 and 9 frets...

Hey Dave ... excellent idea. And, one of my favorite songs of all time :) You don't do it scruggs style though, I assume.
