Is there any old-time jamming in the Mooresville, Statesville or Hickory areas? It would be fun to get together to share some music and tales.

The Old-time Fiddlers ' Convention which occurred at Plemmons Student Union on the campus of Appalachian State University, Boone, NC Saturday, Feb 18, 2012, was great! There were numerous contests including youth and adult banjo, fiddle, dance and more contests. I attended two workshops as well as a slow jam. All were very well done. This is a really cool event and it was especially rewarding to see the App State students heavily involved; some future MCs and organizers there!

Anybody know of any events around the Mooresville or Statesville area?

	hdplayer says: 1/29/2012 3:56:50 AM Yes please post any OT gatherings. I'm down in Rock Hill SC, but I'll gladly drive up to Statesville and vicinity to play with folks. I'm new to the banjo, and progressing ok, but I also know I'll get better a lot quicker if I'm around other pickers. Hope to make it to the ASOT Fiddlers' Convention. Right now I have a schedule conflict... but still holding out hope I can make it!
	christyeve says: 2/9/2012 11:08:23 AM there is alot of stuff going on around here! every sat . morn in downtown mooresville they jam at a coffee shop, union grove every weekend pretty much, my family plays at our house on the lake in the summertime or warm weather or when it's cold. would look forward to meeting some new friends. I play banjo,fuddle.Brother plays guitar and everything else, sister -in -law plays mandolin, sister plays banjo,mandolin and fiddle. Brother made most of our instruments. we are too poor to buy real ones. JUST KIDDING! Rest of the family plays too!
