My fabulous wife gave me an ODE Model 33 SN 2025 making me one happy man. It is original from top to tail. The head is separating at the top quarter (1 - 3 o'clock). I would love to hear if anyone has access to a replacement. Or advice around what to replace with to keep it as original as possible.

	Texican65 says: 12/26/2018 10:13:35 PM Hi Andy! Welcome. Congrats on the Ode 33, that’s a great banjo! I’ve got an Ode 42, serial no. 1776, from 1964. Your serial number 2025 I believe puts it well after 1964, so plastic heads were already in favor and becoming the norm. Unless somebody specifically ordered a hide head, your 33 more than likely came with a plastic one. These banjos take an 11” head. Depending on what kind of sound you’re going for, different head types will fit the bill. If you want loud and bright, a frosted top Remo or 5 Star will do. If you want mellow and warm, a hide head, or fiberskyn would do. Good luck and have fun! And let’s see some photos in the “Collectors Corner”! Dow
	darwinyarwin says: 12/27/2018 10:55:43 AM Andy, I've got a Remo Weatherking 10 7/8" i.d. med crown head that came off of my '62 Ode 30's model LN. It was the original head that came with the new banjo when I bought it. The reason I took it off was that it got some tiny splatters of walnut stain on it (think pencil dot size - makes the frosted white look "dusty in one quarter) because I was careless when I was refinishing another banjo next to it. It's in otherwise perfect condition. PM me here if you think you want it.
