Let's discuss our likes and dislikes regarding how the tradition is evolving. Can we describe the trends, the development of technique, the changing objectives for the high and lonesome sound? Purist views are welcome too.

	MarkRough says: 1/30/2011 7:55:55 AM Great idea! I don't know why anyone'd want to stuck in just one groove. I love old time fiddle tunes, for sure, but also think blues, Breton an dros, and middle eastern stuff sounds great on the 5 string.

As a beginner at i have to content myself with just trying to learn and play a tune but as a listener the music that love the most always takes the traditional forms somewhere new. Respect for tradition coupled with modern experimentation can be heady mix. Nice to see the Horseflies link on the forum. I love that tune!
