This is my favorite banjo model...it's a unique design and it has been continuously produced since around 1973.
Whether you have one of the classic bracket shoe models, or a newer Megatone model...please join up and share you enthusiasm for this masterpiece from Boulder, CO.

OME,and specifically the Juggernaut,had me captivated even
before I became an OME player;an old Juggernaut has an
aura,a presence...it carries a memory of its origin...we know

I played a bunch of banjos at Turtle hill. None sounded as good as the OME. The combination of deep tone and sweet ring were fantastic. So when I found a walnut Juggernaut at Janet Davis it was perfect. I look forward to every chance Iget to take her outa the case!

I know what you mean...I can't put mine down. Sometimes I catch myself daydreaming at work...wishing I were home playing the Juggernaut. I need to get a custom license plate frame made that reads: "I'd rather be playing my Juggernaut"...ha!

I would be very interested to find out what strings /head tension etc other Juggernaut users have on their banjos I know what Div has, but just curious about others thanks

I recently changed my string gauges and I'm really happy with the realists. I now use 10, 11, 12.5, 20, 10. Head tension around 90 on the drum dial (G#). I think a good bridge is super critical.

Yes...after a couple of "almost there" experiences in the
bridge dep´t I ordered the Stelling compensated Old Growth
BIRCH bridge,and...that was it...I truly believe it to be the
perfect match for banjos w/ lots of "ring"...McUtsi

I've had great luck with a medium weight Kat Eyz bridge. But I might try a Scorpion or SS III. As far as bridges go, it's mostly all about good wood.

I tried a 5-star but It was way too loose to fit on my pot, so I gave up on that and I'm very happy with my AMB head.

yeah, that's a classic catalog. Wonderful photography. I have all the Ome catalogs except for an actual copy of of the 1975 fold-open catalog. Ome did a great job in adding them along with serial numbers to their web site.

while at it,I did some maintenance AND changed the head...it
now sports a clear 5-Star head...it´s my favorite head AND it
looks cool...even the inside of a Jug is TOPS...McUtsi

I have a clear Remo head waiting in the wings....I'll try it on again some time...they work well with these spun brass rings. Too bad the inside of my resonator is painted black...I've had 2 Juggs in the past with untainted resonators so that you can see the wood grain...perfect when using the clear head.

I played my from 1983 until 2003, sold it, played Gibson's, Chiefs, Neats and settled on a prewar. Bought my Ome back, and it has a home again. At first the neck felt different than I was used to after 10 yrs of other models, but it's slowly coming back, or I am slowly coming back.

Hello! It has been a while since anyone posted! I play my father's 1978 Ome Juggernaut Jr. Triple X. I don't think it is possible for me to love another banjo the way I love this one. The tone is so beautiful (bright and mellow at the same time), the neck is the perfect size (narrowness) for me, and it carries so many happy memories of my dad and me playing it.

Just bought a 2007 Custom Jugg. Looks like I bought it new. The sound and look is incredible. Hopefully will get to the shop in Boulder one day. Chuck and group build beautiful instruments.
