I got a clear head on my old Ome again and I forgot how cool it is! Not only does it look very "cool" and modern---you can see all the shiny metal work inside the pot, but the tone is very nice.
I find that the clear head has increased the volume and made the banjo much more responsive. Sure, it's not the typical "Gibson" tone, but so what....I'm not looking for that.
The bracket shoes, the silverspun tone ring and the clear head all make for a very clean and "jazzy" sound especially when playing chords and arpeggios.
If you haven't and you're the least bit curious, you should try it out....very cool!
I also bought a Renaissance head that I will try on (again) in the coming months....
