Glad to find this Ome Juggernaut group!
I uploaded some pics of mine to my profile. I'm not exactly sure what year it is. The serial number stamped on the rim is very faint and hard to read. I'm not sure if it is 1049, or 1648, or something else. Based on what I've read here, and photos of others; I'm thinking it's likely an early 1975, rosewood edition. Can anyone confirm this?
I do love this banjo! Solid and beautiful. Great quality and workmanship all around. Fantastic tone and playability. My only small complaint is the 1st and 4th strings both sit very close to the outside edges of the fretboard, and tend to slide off very easily at the slightest hint of sideways pressure on the string (more so than any other banjo I've owned). So I have to be extra careful to finger straight down on those.
