Pete recording with Flatt & Scruggs.

From From Greylock to Bean Blossom on 2/9/2017 9:18:07 AM

Pete did some recordings backed by Flatt and Scruggs that were not released at the time. Does anyone know if they have been released or what has happened to them?

They said there were a few posted on this album Rainbow Race and I think it sounded like the Hobo's Lullaby and The Clearwater may have been backed up by them. The songs sounded good. Here is the album on line.

You can see a recording of Pete singing with the Foggy Mountain Boys in the movie “A Song and a Stone”. It is a movie about Pete. The story I heard is that when both Pete and Lester/Earl were on Columbia records they were in the studio together and recorded Hobos Lullaby. It was not used on Pete’s album”Rainbow Race”. It is worth seeing!

Hobo's Lullaby
Linked by Marc Nerenberg 9 years ago: Hobo's Lullaby is a song by "The Texas Drifter" (Goebel Reeves) who was a one-time hobo, turned country singer who specialized in songs about hobos. I first heard this song sung by Pete Seeger.
