Setup in Phila area

From pcmancini on 1/4/2013 11:04:29 AM

Hi, where do you all go for a setup?  It is a new, pretty well setup from Elderly, RKR35.  But it always helps to have an instrument dialed in.

Hopefully, with all the "String Bands" around there are some good shops nearby.

Thanks

Paul

Bucks County Folk Music shop might be a good bet, but I see on their web site that the repair shop is closed until the 12th. Anyway, it's shop.bucksmusic.com/

I do know of them but thanks. Was wondering if there are others as well. (Nothing against them.)

I'd like to know about others in the area, too. Unfortunately, this is a small and not very active group, but maybe someone will chime in.

Yes, I noticed that when I joined but thought I would try anyway. Thanks.

Yep, Karl at Bucks County.

Thanks again Dave. Do you know if he does "while you wait"?

Maybe... if you called ahead.

I just had some repairs done at Bucks County, including setting up a new bridge and replacing some frets and the craftsmanship was terrible and my banjo is now permanently scarred and sounds terrible. Karl seems knowledgeable (arrogant) but the work was terrible and he took no ownership for damaging my instrument. Needless to say I will never be going back, and I urge you to learn from my mistake!
