Hi, everybody,

Tony Furtado is holding both a workshop and a concert at my house in NE Portland on October 19. Here's the deal:

Workshop: 12:30 - 3:30 p.m. Bluegrass banjo -- and beyond: Tony will teach techniques to improve your playing and add creativity to your picking. Suggested for intermediate and advanced beginners.

Concert at 8 p.m. (with an as yet to be announced co-conspirator. But you know it will be great!)

Since his straight-ahead-Scruggs days, he has moved into slide banjo, slide guitar, singing, songwriting, band leading. His concerts are a total hoot.

The workshop is $50, and the concert is $20 (but if you attend both, it will cost $60). Let us know at clairell@aracnet.com, we'll send you the address and...whatever.

	wmprout says: 11/14/2013 4:37:08 PM if this an Oregon bluegrass assn. event I would expect to be there a bunch of right wingers, radical religious conservatives, you are my sunshine singing, ponderous, slow, holier than y'alls, who don't bother to learn anything about bluegrass at all. It will be like listening to repeats of Rush Limbaugh shows in talking to anybody who will show up there. The OBA has sold out to these jerks so they can make money for their organization. I would like to see KBOO radio kick them off the air. They are so not like the spirit of KBOO - a progressive, even radical outlook for ALL their other shows. I'm still working to make this positive change to KBOO programming.
