Classical Clawhammer?

From Bluesage on 11/17/2011 3:07:06 PM

Anyone have any classical pieces they'd like to share? I'll start the ball rolling with some Bach. I've linked a version of Jesu, Joy Of Man's Desiring to the group.

Posted another tune. This one isn't an actual classical piece, it's a derivative interpretation...

Really nice Mike! I while back I took a shot at the "A" section and just linked the tune to this group. It's played CH.

Ric, I like the tone. It sounds as though you were playing a high tuned instruments, possibly strung with gut or nylon. Tell me about the instrument you used to record this clip!

I haven't played it on my banjeurine yet, but I'll try it out soon...

Hey Mike,
Thanks! I played this one on my 12" Romero and it really has a wonderful, full rich tone. The banjo was tuned to Double C and the capo was on the 3rd fret. I have it strung with classical Nylguts and it is tuned to pitch.

I am wanting to tackle a classical piece. Any suggestions?

Opps, pardon my st-st-stuttering. No idea on how to remove it, haha.

I think that's my job as moderator. I've removed the redundant posts. As to suggestions, I'd recommend starting with some relatively simple Bach pieces and see where that leads you. Can't wait to hear the results. If you want a tab to kick start your explorations, try this link (MP3 is on the main tab page):
