What have you got?

From Kstevensmd on 1/29/2011 5:48:18 PM

My RK-R82 Professional Gold is a wonderful banjo, it's the only one I play now.  I bought it new from Banjo.com in 9/10; got a great deal, nice people to deal with.  When I first got it, I thought the neck was a bit narrow; the 4th string would easily slide off doing push offs on it, but that was just poor technique on my part; have fixed that now!   Ross Nickerson had an oppurtunity to play it this fall and he seemed very impressed with the sound.  I have a few pictures on my homepage and when I get around to it, I'll post some more.

I will check your homepage out. I have a few pictures of my Elite on my homepage. That is one fine banjo you have.

RK80 -- purchased from Lynwood Lunsford, based on his recommendation for a banjo good enough to play on stage (if I ever got that good!) without breaking the bank!

I've got an open back Ne Plus Ultra and one of the "Cowgirl" guitars. Both are very fun and colorful instruments. :)

I love my Ne Plus Ultra openback. A No-Knot tailpiece, Ren head, Bart V. bridge and Nylon strings make it sing!

I really enjoy my RK-80. Like people often comment in product reviews," if it were to ever get lost or stolen, I would replace it with the same right away!"

I have an RK-80 and it seems to be all the banjo I need.

A 75 (one of the very few so far in Europe, I guess)

I have an RK-R85-SN and really like it. I got one of the early ones (ser nr 77) and I had to do some touch up and a lot of set up but now it sounds and plays great (see my review). RK makes so many models now, I don't know which one I'd get if I was in the market for a new one. But my next will be gold. I lean toward gold and maple.

I have 2 RKs. My RK-80 is one of the first batch, serial #30. Greg Rich did a fantastic job of engraving the arm rest and tension hoop on it, the only RK-80 I know of with this engraving. There are pictures in the RK folder on my homepage if anyone wants to see. It is one great sounding banjo too. I love it.

I also have a RK-82. It sounds every bit as good as the RK-80 and the gold is really nice on it.

Three banjos sit on stands in my music room, the 2 RKs and a Gibson. Each day when I decide what to pick up to play, the Gibson is the one that just sits in it's stand. That's how much I like the sound of the RKs.
