I am a rank beginner, having just picked up the banjo after 45 years of inactivity. A friend of mine gave me wise advice: "get the best banjo you can afford". Well I bought the best one I could afford plus a little more. The most I could afford was the RK-35, then I dug a little deeper and got the RK-80. Both are great and, to be honest, don't sound much different. But, the inlays on the RK-80 are mesmerizing. You certainly can't go wrong either way.
