Hey just joined the group. Glad to be here as a proud RK-OT25 Madison owner. Do have a question for anyone out there though. Has anyone played one of the RK Californias? They look nice and have seen them come up for sale a few times, but haven't seen/heard many video/sound clips of them so I don't know if I should ever pull the trigger. I'm happy with my OT25 and am having Dan Pennington make me a 12" openback with an Eastman WL neck, so not sure I'll need a California, but would still like anyones input. Thanks and be well!!

	CrackerJo says: 9/16/2015 12:20:50 PM I have both, RB 012 & RB 024 Cali. I've only been practicing since Dec. and I still have so much to learn. I can play Banjo in the Hollow, but it's a little rough around the edges still. Both instruments sound brighter than what I have heard on Youtube of the OT-25. I have been playing both of my open backs Scruggs style 99% of the time. I'm in recovery from back surgery, and they are much lighter than my RK-35. I think they had some quality issue's with the one's produced in Korea. My RB 012 has two slight blem's,it was made China, but doesn't affect tone. My 012 is set up with a renaissance head, it has the brass tone ring. My 024 Cali has a smooth 5 Star head, with the Whyte Ladie tone ring really sounds great to me. I hope this helps.
