I am a new Stelling banjo owner, although I have been around Stelling owners for the past 4 or 5 years including Tony Ellis here in central Ohio. I, like Tony, own a Stelling Master Flower banjo. I searched the Internet stores yesterday and did not find one Master Flower banjo for sale new or used. I found only a few new Stelling banjos for sale during my search. When I wrote Stelling banjos to order a new banjo about a month ago, I was told that the order would not be filled for over 5 months. My question is: are the new Stelling banjos becoming more rare or is this the way it has gone for the history of the Stelling banjos? I am not placing a opinion about Stelling banjos production one way or the other. I was just interested in the history of the roll out of the banjos. I also know that Geof has been around for a long time and does this result in fewer banjos being produced. BTW I love my Master Flower. As others have noted the quality of the fit and finish is impressive. I love the sound and setup as well.

	Muziclova says: 12/27/2020 8:17:14 AM You own one of the finest banjos made. Got mine from Elderly music. Geof runs a small shop. His banjos are like a fine wine. They take time to make, and he's not getting any younger. That would be my take on your question.
	dpdevendra says: 12/27/2020 9:35:44 AM I too purchased my new Master Flower from Elderly. The banjo was still in the case and had not even been around long enough in their shop to be taken out. I feel fortunate to find this banjo. I love the walnut on my banjos. As Tony Ellis indicated in his Master Flower review on Banjo Ben's store, I hope Geof lives a long time and continues to make those great banjos.
	CAPT Steve says: 12/27/2020 12:02:59 PM The Stelling site used to have a listing of serial numbers by year of manufacture (I couldn't find it just now). But I seem to recall that the range was about 75-150 banjos per year, so their availability was and is limited. I feel blessed to have a Master's Cross.
	Geoff Stelling says: 12/27/2020 1:39:14 PM You are all accurate in your assessment of the current situation. I am 77 and not getting any younger, so all will come to an end sometime. I have plans to continue in 2021 with a few of my best employees. We may make 100 banjos or maybe less depending on what we make. If we continue past 2021, till my 50th year in business, I will be happy and blessed to have lived so long. Hoping for the best. Geoff

	dpdevendra says: 12/28/2020 10:25:14 AM Why not? If you can afford it and you had thought about it anyway, then go for it. The last I looked both Elderly Instruments and Banjo Ben Clark had new Stelling banjos for sale. Free shipping for both. Probably more dealers will have them, I am not aware of them all.

banjerbailey says: 2/6/2021 11:27:37 AM You could sort of guess that Geoff was slowing down when you didn't see a Stelling on the back cover of Banjo Newsletter! I was sorely disappointed. . . . I have back covers on Scrimshaw banjos that are truly works of art.
	Geoff Stelling says: 4/19/2021 1:48:40 PM Yes, I am slowing down, but not completely. This will most likely be our last year as a banjo producing corporate entity. I will leave the future of any possible banjo related business up to fate and the few employees I still have. If we venture on in a smaller sole proprietorship form, I'll let you all know. Meanwhile, plan on the worst scenario and buy up all the Stellings you can find. I have been doing that for several years. They are not getting any cheaper nor more available. Just the inverse of that. All the best. Geoff
